RETIRED MEMBERS – PFAS Study

Please see below message from the current Chief Fire Officer regarding the release of UQ's PFAS study in the near future.

Hello all,

I know many of you will be interested so just a short message to advise that the University of Queensland (UQ) is finalising the publishing and distributing of the finalised Evaluation of per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in Airservices Australia’s Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service (ARFFS) Staff – 2018/2019 report (PFAS Study Report) to all participants via email soon, hopefully before the end of the year. UQ note that if it doesn’t occur before the end of the week ending the 18th December,  then dissemination won’t occur until after the 11th of January. As this is a UQ study and report, they have responsibility for publishing and distribution.

Following a workshop with UQ, the UFUA and AS ARFFS personnel, it was agreed that the report will be sent by email with an attached plain English FAQ/ Summary of the report. Hard copies may be made available at a later date.

The UFUA has agreed to assist notifying retired Airservices Australia personnel.

The email message will also contain some contact points for those with any concerns.

Regards

Rob Purcell
