Don't get nabbed on home loan rates.

Don't get nabbed on home loan rates.

Union members can stop shopping around for a fairer home loan. ME Bank has kept its standard variable home loan rate for members of unions and industry super funds below that of the 'big four' banks for every month, of every year, since they became a bank in 2001.

Customers of the big banks could have saved more than $23,000 in interest if they'd had their home loan with ME Bank over the last 10 years.

It reflects a commitment to act in your best interest, which is just as strong today as it was more than a decade ago.

With competitive interest rates, fewer and lower fees, ME Bank could help union members cut thousands of dollars – and possibly years – off their home loan. And, ME Bank's Mobile Banking Managers can come to you – at home or at work.

SWITCH TO GENUINELY FAIRER BANKING.

Call 13 15 63 or visit mebank.com.au/homeloans

Data: InfoChoice – compares the ME Bank SMHL Standard Variable Home Loan rate with the standard variable home loan rates of ANZ, CBA, NAB and Westpac on the first day of each month from 01/06/01 – 01/03/12. Terms and conditions are available on request. Fees and charges apply. Applications are subject to credit approval. Members Equity Bank Pty Ltd ABN 56 070 887 679 Australian Credit Licence 229500.

Are you aged 55 or over?

Are you aged 55 or over?

Transitioning to Retirement can be a golden opportunity for Australians aged 55 and over to reduce your working hours and replace lost income by drawing funds from a super income stream (pension) account, or you can continue to work full time but boost your current superannuation balance in the years before retirement via salary sacrifice. You can replace income sacrificed to your super by drawing funds from a super income stream.

This strategy can potentially lower the income tax you pay on your salary and enable people to take the slow path to retirement. Will it work for you? This depends on your personal situation. To find out more about Transitioning to Retirement, visit the ACTU Member Connect Super Advice Toolkit or arrange to speak to an IFS financial planner on 1300 138 848.

Industry Fund Services Limited (IFS), ABN 54 007 016 195, AFSL 232514 is one of the largest providers of financial services and products to industry super funds, unions and their members.

As a Visitor to Congress you will be able to observe the Congress Opening as well as the major plenary sessions which include the Prime Minister's address, speeches from the ACTU President and Secretary, other keynote speakers and ACTU policy debates. OurSay: Secure jobs for a better future

We also invite you to take part in a unique online forum with ACTU President Ged Kearney. Hosted by OurSay, the forum gives people the chance to pose questions to Ged and vote on other people's questions.

We want to know your questions about working life in the new economy – along with what unions should be doing for Australian workers in the 21st century. We're especially keen to hear from younger workers about the direction the union movement should take to ensure they have secure jobs in the future.
