If cost containment is so important then why did they just hand/fund out over 100 early retirement packages and then pay a whole bunch of people on paid transfers to fill the Vance’s and then embark on recruitment with back to back recruit course planned.
I would think that to be a very expensive exercise he’ll bent in forcing a perceived and required culture change but not look after there currently existing firefighters.
How can they give an allowance increase and say that it’s a wage increase?
Clint, one of Airservices stated objectives for these negotiations is “cost containment” what this means is no additional money ie. superannuation, allowances or anything else that would require additional funding outside of the Governments bargaining policy Wage Price Index (WPI) increases.
